Stirling Castle

Description

The child is only six days old, and yet she is about to become the queen. The handmaidens of the royal court bathe her in luxurious florals and dress her in the finest silks. The newly crowned Mary Queen of Scots is lifted high above the court in the warm yellow hall of the castle, and the crowd cheers and drinks to her good health. The musicians play long into the night, and the dancing courtiers laugh and dine on exotic citrus fruits and wine. But wee little Mary is already fast asleep, among the bouquets of flowers and soft ribbons, dreaming of tomorrow.
