ABOUT

to nature, with love

A note from our founder

Equinox is my love letter to Scotland, a place where one branching tree of my family originated, and a land I am now so proud to call my home.

My little atelier looks over an ancient woodland, covered in soft blankets of green moss and lichen, and where about a hundred crows roost and build their nests. Occassionally a deer can be seen picking its way through the bluebells in Spring, and there is of course many a happy dog traipsing through the mud.

In my studio I craft handmade jewellery, customised to order so that each wearable art piece is as unique as the owner I make it for. The designs are inspired by nature and the ancient history of Scotland, bringing a thread from the past like magic into our modern every day.

The fragrances I make are rooted also in the plants, traditional healing, and cultural feeling of the Scottish Highlands. They are an invitation to slow down, look inward, and rediscover our truest selves through the power of scent memory.

I couldn't be prouder of this work. It is a blessing every day to wake up and see you enjoying these offerings. Thank you for all of your support over the years. Ceud mìle taing.

SUSTAINABILITY

Our jewellery is made from high quality recycled sterling silver, sourced from sustainable and ethical providers. In our candles and melts we use only sustainable, vegan, non-GMO soy wax made in Sweden, that is devoid of toxic substances or synthetic additives. We fragrance our melts and candles with cruelty free 100% natural essential oils. The individually sold essential oils we sell are made from certified organic plants and are sourced ethically and sustainably. Where possible and safe to do so, we have used recycled or recyclable materials in our products, lowering the impact on the environment when crafting or shipping items.

planting for the future

Equinox is proud to sponsor the rewilding efforts made by Trees for Life, an organisation on a mission to replant the ancient forests and protect the habitats of Scotland's native species. We donate regularly from our proceeds to plant new trees and to support the organisation's activities. It is so important that we look after our planet for generations to come, and it starts by better understanding the impact of deforestation or over harvesting in our own back yards.
