Description

The year is 1670, and the palace in Edinburgh has just opened their first official physic garden. The botanists are eager to display their exotic finds from the new world and to sell their cultivated healing herbs to the royal apothecaries. The tiny winding rows of plants are bursting with earthy green herbs and bright splashes of colour. Your eye falls on a basket set down along the path with freshly cut rosemary, sage and marjoram. Its fresh garden scent reminds you of your grandmother's cooking and long hazy summer days spent outside in the sun. Just to be here among the leaves makes you feel more healthy and alive.
