Ogham - 18k Gold Vermeil
Necklace
Ogham is an ancient writing system found in Ireland and Scotland on upright stones that may have been land markings. While much of the ancient understanding of this alphabet is lost to time, but the Christian monks of the 6th and 7th century did preserve and modernise the alphabet to what is understood today. Ogham is read from the bottom up, as though following from the roots to the top of a tree. Each set of horizontal or slanted lines is attributed to a different letter of the alphabet, allowing you to write whole words by attaching multiple letters to a single vertical line.
This Ogham pendant can be customised up to 5 characters as standard, but if you would like a longer pendant and more letters we can quote you for a different price depending on your needs, just email us at: info@equinoxatelier.com
Each piece of jewellery is individually handmade to order, and each piece will vary slightly, making this wearable art completely unique to you!
